My friend Dave Thomas posted an arrangement of the folk song Shenandoah in September of 2008 on his blog. After playing it through, I loved the harmonies used to bring this memorable melody to life, and was also pleasantly stunned at the advanced vocabulary used by someone still finding their legs in the world of composition and arranging. Genius is like that; it tends to stray outside the bounds of individual disciplines. After a few months procrastination, I recorded a version and sent it off to him, happy to discover a mutual admiration for our contributions to this piece.

The version I recorded back then used the same setup I had for my original edition of "improvisations vol. 1", which sounded decent for the time, but, like that album, could use a sonic overhaul.

This edition is the same MIDI performance I originally recorded, with a few minor touch ups, re-rendered on a more modern virtual piano.
